Plasma Productions

2791 is the name.  Lunacy is the game.  FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition in Science and Technology) team number 2791, the Shaker Robotics Team, is a rookie team from upstate New York. 

They competed this year for the first time at the Rochester Regional Competition.  At this competition they won the All Star Rookie Award for 2009 which allowed them to continue on to the International FIRST competition in Atlanta, Georgia.

 

This year's game for FIRST competition is called Lunacy.  It involves skills from maneuvering the robot on an extremely low friction surface, to the shooting skill to fire out "moon rocks" into the trailers of the opponent's robots.  But you'll see more about this later, in the videos.

The team had requested documentation of the process of building through the competition.  Plasma Productions co-founder, Blake Cortright, followed the team for the past four months from the building of the bot to the competition in Rochester.

Blake created original music for this project using the Apple program "Garageband" on an iMac.  The songs from this album are available to listen below.
