The Dark Knight is not your traditional Batman movie.? A dark and psychologically-affecting movie, it's definitely not a movie for kids, but for those who can take it it really is a masterpiece. Whoever wrote the script really knew what they were doing... they knew how to create internal conflict that changes characters in extremely intense but entirely believable ways. This is undoubtedly the movie of the decade.
The Dark Knight features one of the greatest casts of actors assembled on the silver screen.? Heath Ledger steals the show as the Joker.? An insane anarchist bent on destruction, the sheer unpredictability of the Joker is sure to keep you on the edge of your seat.? Heath Ledger's performance as the Joker is so amazing that its easy to forget that all the other actors also made brilliant performances, far surpassing the acting of any other movie in history.
Most movies with iconic heroes have reoccurring theme songs with strong melodies, but Batman is not a traditional hero.? The complexity of the story calls for a soundtrack darker and more haunting.? Hans Zimmer accomplishes this with a unique build of rhythms that give the movie an epic feel.
The special effects are outstanding, and the fight sequences are so realistic the audience can almost feel the punches, but this movie is far more than a flashy shoot-em-up.? The Dark Knight takes the comic book hero genre to a whole new level, and even higher level than Batman Begins took the genre too in 2005.
The acting, special effects, cinematography, and soundtrack are all some of the greatest works of art to ever grace the silver screen, but what makes The Dark Knight truly magnificent is the storyline.? There's enough story crammed into The Dark Knight to make two, or possibly three movies.? But it's not the quantity of storyline in The Dark Knight that makes this movie magnificent, it's the quality of storyline.? The storyline is so well thought out and well written that it's hard to believe it's based on a series of comic books.? The writers of The Dark Knight are masters of the craft of storytelling, able to weave together elements of conflict, characterization, and emotion in such a way that the audience feels as if they have truly lived the experiences of the characters.
The Dark Knight is the greatest movie that has ever been made.? Yet as the title suggests, this movie is extremely dark, and therefore not for everyone.? But for those who can withstand the psychology of the movie, and for those who appreciate the art of storytelling, this movie is a must-see.
