An Interview With Adam Bond

Posted by Plasma Productions on May 19, 2008 at 5:46 PM
Below is an interview with Matt, the actor who played Adam Bond (codename "Lion0") in The Phantom PWNZOR and Attack of the Cat.

Interviewer: So where did lion0 come from?
Matt: Oh, Lion0. Well... it all started with a beaver that was actually a duck.
Interviewer:  *laughs*
Matt: Seriously.  I'm not even kidding.
*long pause*
Interviewer:  What?
Matt: Blake and I were near Lake George and it was night, and we could hardly see anything.
*long pause*
Interviewer: And...
Matt: And we saw some ducks in the water but we thought they were beavers. But they were actually ducks, so....
Interviewer: *laughs* And that led to Lion0?
Matt: Yes. To this day, we don't know how, but it did.
*long pause*
Interviewer: Okay then....
Matt: Somehow, we just started talking. Out of the blue, we came up with some great ideas.  Like... what would happen if a secret agent had to send an extremely important picture but he couldn't send it wirelessly... he would have to call the CIA and read off the color of each of the millions of pixels one by one. And then Blake started wondering what would happen if someone was counting down the seconds like on a bomb and adding "teen" after each word.  So we came up with all these hilarious ideas, and then since I'm really good at writing stories, I came up with a way to combine all of them into one story.  And so it began.... Lion0 Episode One: The Phantom PWNZOR was born. We filmed it in my basement a few weeks later.
Interviewer: Whoa... all with a beaver who was actually a duck....
Matt: Yeah.  Amazing, isn't it?
Interviewer: Yes, very amazing.
Matt: Lion0 continued in Attack of the Cat, also known as "The Lion0 Episode That Wouldn't Die". I wrote a really great script from it, but as usual, we didn't follow it. The story started off as a search for a cat that stole some lightsabers, but it ended up meandering into Blake talking in an empty field for about three hours in the middle of the night....  Have you watched "Attack of the Cat"?... I'll warn you.  Attack of the Cat is long and boring. It's hillarious, but it's also long and boring. So it's funny in a boring sort of way.
Interviewer: I don't think I've seen this one yet.... I'll have to watch it soon....
Matt: The beginning is the best part.  With the gadgets briefing.
Interviewer: *laughs* Who plays Lion0?
Matt: That would be me.
*long pause*
Interviewer: Really?
Matt: Really.
Interviewer: You aren't such a bad actor!
Matt: Not when I'm playing the part of a secret agent ninja. But for serious parts, I'm bad. In Galactic Quest, I played Jedi Master Zak Katar (the guy with the yellow lightsaber). You've seen Galactic Quest, right?  I actually do have some ninja ftraining, so that helped.  I'm a brown belt in karate.
Interviewer: Wait, we're you the one in one of the blooper reels where a dude was talking on the phone and a picture fell and he just kept on talking?  Or am I way off?
Matt: That's me.  I play the part of Jason Glenn in Black Rifle, the movie we're making right now.
Interviewer: Ninja training?  I take kung fu!
Matt: Really? That's awesome!
Interviewer: We gotta spar sometime!
Matt: Sure, but I might be a little rusty.  I haven't practiced karate in about two years.  But I'm still good at it.  It's like riding a bike - you don't forget it once you learn it.
Interviewer: Black Rifle is the one coming out 8-8-08, right?
Matt: Yeah.
Interviewer: Cool.
